Wave Particle Duality

Analyzing the interpretations of the wave collapse

The most mind boggling and confounding discovery in quantum mechanics is that light, energy and matter, at a fundamental level, behave as both a wave and a particle.  This is referred to as the wave-particle duality.  There have been countless experiments testing and confirming this phenomenon, with the double slit experiment being at the forefront.

At the quantum, sub atomic level, tangible 3D particles (quarks, electrons) do not "exist" until they convert from a probability based on their wave function.   This conversion from probabilistic wave function to tangible 3D particle matter is referred to as "the wave collapse".   The interpretation of wave collapse, and what exactly causes it has been at the forefront of science and debate for the past hundred years.

1. The Copenhagen Interpretation - observation triggered wave function collapse.  Observation is not precisely defined.  Some interpret observation as requiring a conscious observer, others say any "macro object / already collapsed particle" constitute an observer.

2. The Von Neumann-Wigner Interpretation - similar to the Copenhagen interpretation, but specifically stating that human consciousness (and perhaps animal consciousness) causes collapse of the wave function.

3. Bohmian Mechanics (Pilot Wave) Interpretation

4. Many Worlds Interpretation (Relative State Formulation, Everett Interpretation)   - Quantum decoherence

The Many Worlds Interpretation's main conclusion is that the universe (or manyverse in this context) is composed of a quantum superposition of very many, possibly even non-denumerably infinitely many, increasingly divergent, non-communicating parallel universes or quantum worlds.

The Many-worlds Interpretation, was first described by Hugh Everett in 1957 (where it was called the relative state interpretation, the name Many-worlds was coined by Bryce Seligman DeWitt starting in the 1960s and finalized in the 70s). His formalism of quantum mechanics denied that a measurement requires a wave collapse, instead suggesting that all that is truly necessary of a measurement is that a quantum connection is formed between the particle, the measuring device, and the observer.

    a. Infinite Multiverse Branches

    b. The Many Minds Interpretation

5. The ConscioCentric Interpretation - Consciousness is a fundamental characteristic of all matter, and traverses the many worlds realm.  Our conscious control reaches outside of our individual human bodies and contributes to or influences everything we interact with or consciously consider through thought.

Everett's many worlds interpretation is correct in that there exists a dimensional promotion (5D) that allows for choice and branching of reality into alternative past, present and future configurations.   These "many worlds" should not be seen as individual, distinct and separate worlds from out own, but directly tied in with our conscious experience.  What we call "solid reality" and the "moment of now" can be viewed as stacking these infinite many worlds like translucent pieces of paper, and the composite image of probability for configuration of the universe becomes highly "opaque" where the worlds overlap.   Reality is the result of consensual stacking of the multiverse and time dimension.

Collective, consensual reality is a key concept of Consciocentrism, and its possible that the force that pulls together the many worlds and many times is the same force that pulls together material objects in the three dimensions we call space - Gravity.   It is possible that our experience on Earth, with 8 billion highly evolved conscious beings and trillions of other conscious animals with advanced control over the material world, participates in a consensual now, rides forward on the arrow of time, and with high probability of solid state in the manyverse.    A sort of "gravity" of our consensual focus in the time dimension (4D) creates the moment of now and the arrow of time.  The "gravity" of our consensual agreement on causality collapses / merges / stacks the multiverse of possibility (5D), creating what we see as a solid reality (or highly probabilistic reality) at the moment of now.   There may be other areas in the superverse where the dimensional time focus and alternate reality multiverse are focused like a high mass of gravity, but at a different "moment of now" time reference and with a different history and present.

David Bohm
Physicist, Conscious Researcher, Philosopher
"Consciousness is much more of the implicate order than is matter . . . Yet at a deeper level [matter and consciousness] are actually inseparable and interwoven , just as in the computer game the player and the screen are united by participation."
Max Planck
Physicist, Father of Quantum Theory
"In all my research I have never come across matter. To me the term matter implies a bundle of energy which is given form by an intelligent spirit."
Niels Bohr
Physicist, Quantum Mechanics Pioneer
"When we measure something we are forcing an undetermined, undefined world to assume an experimental value. We are not measuring the world, we are creating it."
Werner Heisenberg
Physicist, Quantum Mechanics Pioneer
"Both matter and radiation possess a remarkable duality of character, as they sometimes exhibit the properties of waves, at other times those of particles. Now it is obvious that a thing cannot be a form of wave motion and composed of particles at the same time - the two concepts are too different"
Wolfgang Pauli
Physicist
"What really matters for me is ... the more active role of the observer in quantum physics ... According to quantum physics the observer has indeed a new relation to the physical events around him in comparison with the classical observer, who is merely a spectator."
